Pressed Flowers Shawl
In full disclosure, wearing the designer hat all the time can be exhausting. The path to becoming a designer started with being an avid knitter. I miss those days. When I see a pretty new design, I often long to embark on a project that doesn't involve math calculations, scrupulous notes and worry. So, after the holidays, I embarked on knitting some projects by other designers.
First up is the Pressed Flowers shawl by Amy Christoffers which can be found here on Ravelry. The pattern as written calls for DK-weight yarn, but I thought it would be lovely to have a warm, blanket-like version done in Chibi Paka Chunky.
I also changed the stitch pattern a bit...I did all stockinette stitch throughout, rather than doing the garter background for the "flowers". My finished shawl ended up being large and lush. It is so soft and I love the combination of the new CBC colors.
Here are the specs:
Wingspan: 71" / Depth: 33"
14 skeins Chibi Paka Chunky:
- 7 Oatmeal (MC)
- 1 Red Rock
- 2 Cadet
- 2 Absinthe
- 2 Iron
